Mumbai: Wärtsilä Corporation opened a Wärtsilä Land & Sea Academy (WLSA) training centre at its existing technology school in Khopoli, India last week in a ceremony presided over by Banmali Agrawala, managing director of Wärtsilä in India. The company says the scope of instruction on offer will range from off-the-shelf, standard product courses to a full range of courses for power plants, ship power and propulsion equipment related to competency qualifications. This is the fourth WLSA regional centre, the others being in Subic Bay, the Philippines; Fort Lauderdale, US; and Turku, Finland. [11/12/06]
