Taipei: Wan Hai is to launch the NS 5 service connecting five Japanese ports to Pearl River area in South China and Taiwan, reports AXSLiner's weekly newsletter. The new service will use two 1,016teu vessels previously used in its Japan-Taiwan-Vietnam service (JSV) and will serve as an upgrade to Wan Hai's current connections in the area. The company also plans to increase the capacity of its JSV service from the current three ships of 1,000teu, using the recently chartered 1,471teu vessel Kuo Chia and the 1,708teu newbuild Kyoto Tower, which will replace two of the smaller vessels.
