The relocation will take place in the first quarter of 2018 and is part of a plan by WSM to be closer to its customers and the future market.
“Relocating our global headquarters to Singapore enables us to position ourselves in the centre of an eco-system that shares our ambition for growth and digitization,” said Carl Schou, president of WSM.
The company said that at present only a few key management personnel would be moving to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur would continue to be an important location for shared services and back office functions.
WSM is one of the few international maritime companies to maintain its global headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
