Wison to work with KBR on Papua New Guinea FLNG project

Wison to work with KBR on Papua New Guinea FLNG project
Shanghai-based Wison Offshore & Marine is working with KBR on a 1.5mtpa floating LNG (FLNG) liquefaction unit in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Wison said in a press release that the agreement will see both parties exclusively associate and collaborate with each other on Kumul Petroleum Holdings' FLNG project.  Global LNG project developer KBR was in August awarded the Kumul contract for the conceptual development and feasibility study services for an energy hub in the Kikori region of the PNG's Gulf Province.

Wison has a proven track record in LNG projects, successfully completing performance testing at its Nantong yard last before delivering the world’s first barge-based FLNG. Ying Cui, Wison Offshore & Marine ceo said: “We’re looking forward to a fruitful cooperation between Wison and KBR. We’re confident that the combination of both parties’ strengths will create the best value for our clients by providing them with more cost-effective and quality solutions to lower the overall investment of FLNG project.”

Greg Conlon, KBR Asia Pacific president said: “KBR is very pleased to be associated with Wison Offshore & Marine in developing a significant nation-building project for PNG and looks forward to further strengthening our relationship with Wison”.
