Dubai: Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has enhanced its ocean service from North America to the Middle East due to increased in demand within the region. Starting this month, WWL has increased the frequency of its sailings from North America to the Middle East from one voyage per month to two or three sailings per month. The vessels serving this route can accommodate high and heavy as well as break-bulk/project cargoes and boats in addition to cars.
Also new to the North America-Middle East trade route are direct calls to ports in Umm Qasr, Iraq, and Karachi, Pakistan. These additional ports supplement its current calls at Beirut, Lebanon; Aqaba, Jordan; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Dammam, Saudi Arabia; Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates; and Kuwait.
John Felitto, executive vice president and head of commercial for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Region Americas, says, "WWL is proud to operate one of the industry's most extensive and reliable ocean transportation networks in the Middle East. These service expansions offer customers more benefits in terms of geographical distribution and capacity." [29/03/10]
