Yangzijiang bags order for up to six bulkers from Navigation Maritime Bulgare

Navigation Maritime Bulgare has inked a contract with Chinese shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for the construction of up to six 31,800 dwt Great Lakes bulk carriers.

Four of the newbuildings are for firm delivery in 2021-2022, with an option for another two vessels in. The vessels meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s NOx Tier III regulations and the IMO 2020 regulations on sulphur emissions.

Ren Letian, ceo of the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, said, “The Great Lakes bulk carriers is a relatively recent addition to our dry bulker portfolio, as a result of our continuous R&D efforts and introduction of new products. Navibulgar is a repeat customer who has taken delivery of a 45,000 dwt dry bulk carrier built by Yangzijiang.”

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding is one of the largest private shipbuilding companies in China. With four shipyards in Jiangsu province, China, the shipyard constructs the commercial vessels mainly including containerships, bulk carriers and LNG carriers.
