Shenzhen: The container railway connecting Shenzhen City's Yantian Port with Yunnan Province's Kunming City formally opened on November 28th, with total length of 1,795km. Cargoes from landlocked Yunnan Province in southwest China and the ASEAN countries will enjoy one-stop sea and railway integrated transportation services, exported overseas via Yantian Port. In addition, imported cargoes will be directly transported to Yunnan Province through the railway. The container train will depart from Yantian Port every Wednesday, requiring 50 hours to reach Kunming City. [04/12/07]
