Zhoushan and Guangzhou to share shipping limelight

Zhoushan and Guangzhou to share shipping limelight

Shanghai:  Shipping execs from across the region and beyond will be heading to China next week for a couple of major conferences and exhibitions.

Taking place in the first half of the week (November 8-10) is the Cosco World Shipping Summit, this year held in Guangzhou, from where next week's issue of our sister publication the popular e-newspaper Seatrade Asia Week will be compiled.

Then the focus will switch to the emerging shipbuilding hub that is the Zhoushan archipelago of islands in the mouth of the Yangtze river (map pictured). Here will be hosted the China Zhoushan International Maritime Expo 2010 on November 10-11, with Seatrade organising a special Workboat Conference on the second day. Scheduled speakers include representatives of  China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, China Classification Society, ABS Greater China Division, Wartsila Ship Power China and Ulstein.  [04/11/10]
