Zim adds new port calls on Asia-East Med services
Zim is upgrading its East Med-Black Sea Express (EMX) Asia-India Sub Continent East Med and (AME) services with new port calls, new capacity and faster transit times.

Due to commence in mid-October 2015, the changes include additional weekly calls at Ashdod port on the EMX line, and new direct calls to the Xingang and Qingdao ports on AME as well as an additional vessel.

The new EMX rotation will leave from Busan, calling at Shanghai, Ningbo, Da Chan Bay, Ashdod, Haifa, Istanbul, Novorossiysk, Odessa, Istanbul, Haifa, Nhava Sheva and Port Kelang, before returning via Da Chan Bay to Pusan.

Meanwhile the adjusted AME rotation will leave from Xiamen, calling at Xingang, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang, Cochin, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Haifa, Ashdod, Alexandria, and Mersin, before returning to Xiamen.

“We are pleased to upgrade our Asia-Med Services with faster transit times and greater port coverage,” said Rafael Ben-Ari, ZIM vp of shipping. “The improved services provide an immediate response to the needs of the market, consistent with ZIM’s strategy and commitment to our customers. As we have done for many decades, we will continue to provide reliable service to our customers on this strategic and important route between Asia and the Mediterranean.”
