ZIM to boost Asia-East Med services

ZIM to boost Asia-East Med services
ZIM is improving port coverage and transit times on its Asia-East Mediterranean services from July.

An upgraded Asia India subcontinent East Med (AEM) service will be served by eight vessels, with round trips dropping from 63 days to 56 days.

From 27 July, AEM service will rotate between Ningbo, Shanghai, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang, Cochin, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Haifa, Ashdod, Alexandria, Mersin, Xiamen, and Ningbo.

According to the Israeli line, the benefits of the new rotation include shorter eastbound and westbound transit times, increased reliability, an exclusive direct call at Mersin, two weekly calls to Israel, and better synchronisation with ZIM's wider network.

Rafael Ben-Ari, ZIM vp shipping, said: “The improved AME structure offers faster service to our customers in this important trade. We will continue to optimize our services for the benefit of our loyal customers.”
