Yasiru is an independent researcher from Sri Lanka focusing on GHG emissions from shipping industry in order to comply with international climate change regime. He gives a closer attention towards developing states, small island developing (SIDS), latest developed nations (LDN) with regard to regulation developments at IMO.

Graduated from Dalian Maritime University with a BSc in Marine Engineering, and a Masters in Environment Protection & Natural Resources Law from Ocean University of China. Yasiru is Currently holding the position as a director at the Belt & Road Initiative Sri Lanka (BRISL).
