Inchcape extends bunker surveying services to Singapore
Inchcape Shipping Services is launching its bunker surveying services to the port of Singapore with an aim to deliver a “bundled” solution for its customers to reap cost savings.
Inchcape announced that the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has approved of its bunker surveying company license to commence operation from February 2020.
“As an established and trusted partner in the Singapore region, the Inchcape Marine Survey and Inspection team will directly deliver bunker survey activities, including supporting our bunker optimisation product which delivers to customers a bundled solution combining bunker agency, survey and launch costs into a simplified solution to our customers, delivering cost savings, standardised reporting and an industry leading corporate compliance focus,” Inchcape stated.
“Our local Singapore team are part of the Inchcape Global Marine Survey and Inspection team, delivering solutions to our customers through their local knowledge and expertise, supported by a global network offering industry best practices and technology,” it added.
Singapore is the world’s largest bunkering port selling 47.5m tonnes of marine fuels in 2019.
All bunker suppliers, bunker craft operators, bunker surveyors and bunker surveying companies operating in the port of Singapore are required to be licensed by MPA.
As at 8 January 2020, MPA listed 46 licensed bunker surveying company for Singapore port.
