FueLNG said the 7,500 cu m LNG bunkering tanker had been moved to water on 28 May at the shipyard and was on schedule to be completed in Q4 this year. It will be the first LNG bunkering tanker to be operated in Singapore, the world’s largest refuelling port.

FueLNG is a joint venture between Keppel Offshore & Marine and Shell Eastern Petroleum and has completed 200 truck – ship LNG bunker operations in Singapore.

“There is a growing number of LNG-fuelled vessels in the world and FueLNG is well-positioned to seize LNG bunkering opportunities in Singapore,” Saunak Rai, general manager of FueLNG.

“Building Singapore’s first LNG bunkering vessel demonstrates FueLNG’s confidence in LNG as a marine fuel. The vessel will enhance our range of services and boost our efforts to further increase the availability of LNG in the market.”

The vessel has a filling rate range of up to 1,000 cu m of LNG per hour and is able to supply LNG to various types of vessels at heights ranging from 3m to 23m above water level.
