The bunkering operation will also be backed by Secure Anchorage Area (SAA) West Africa, protected by multiple armed patrol boats.

“Bunkers are supplied to clients utilising PPPFM’s bunkering vessels/barges with all operations protected by the SAA team, who have provided maritime clients with 100% successful 24/7 security throughout West Africa since May 2013,” Vitol said in a statement.

PPPFM is fully licensed by Nigeria’s Department of Petroleum Resources, according to Vitol.

The SAA, established in 2013, is a zone where vessels can anchor safely without fear of pirate attacks.
