The six cranes will be installed on three vessels destined for UK offshore specialist Subsea 7, under construction at IHC Merwede. Each vessel will be equipped with one 100t SWL crane, designed to operate at 3,500m, and one 25t AHC subsea crane with an operating depth of 3,000m.

The new series builds a number of other IHC Merwede orders under construction for Subsea 7, including the 146m vessel, Seven Waves, which will also be fitted with a MacGregor subsea crane and is scheduled for delivery this year.

Meanwhile IHC Merwede announced a series of orders totalling EUR350m in the last 24 hours.
