Secretary of State's representative for Maritime Salvage and Intervention Hugh Shaw authorised the move after forecasts predicted bad weather and risk to the damaged vessel, which refloated on Friday and then dragged anchor in high winds on Sunday before being towed back out to sea.

Tug Kingdom of Fife has been tasked with towing the vessel from Mingary Bay, east of Kilchoan Pier, to a sheltered anchorage in Scallastle Bay, 17 miles away. The temporary exclusion zone of 200 metres will still apply to the vessel while she is being moved.

Emergency Towing Vessel (ETV) Herakles will remain on standby but will be released once the Lysblink Seaways is in a safe position.
