K Line containership demolishes gantry crane in Busan

A K Line ultra-large containership Milano Bridge demolished a gantry crane in the port of Busan on Monday and hit two others.

The 14,000 teu boxship Milano Bridge was reported to be under pilot and proceeding to berth seven at Pusan New Port at the time of the accident.

As can be seen from the video the Milano Bridge hits crane No.85 sending it crashing to the ground, according to reports the crane operator was slightly injured.

The Milano Bridge continues to move forward contacting both cranes 81 and 84 derailing them. The K Line containership also made contact with the vessel Seaspan Ganges. The Seaspan Ganges was reported to have left port afterwards with little or no damage.
