ABS to class more Maersk methanol-fuelled ships

The 17,000 teu vessels are due to be delivered from 2025; Maersk now has 19 vessels on order under ABS class capable of running methanol in their dual-fuel engines.

Methanol offers a pathway to zero carbon operation by generating the fuel using renewable electricity, known as green methanol.
