THE Alliance suspending one of five Transatlantic services

THE Alliance is suspending one of its five container services on the Transatlantic trade.

THE Alliance, comprising Ocean Network Express (ONE), Hapag-Lloyd, HMM and Yang Ming Line said it was revising its schedules on the Transatlantic to provide a more stable network.

The container line consortium is suspending one its five Transatlantic loops the AL1 which links Northeast US coast ports with Northwest European ports. From the 2nd quarter of 2021 the trade will be covered by the AL2 – AL5 services.

“The setup of THE Alliance’s network has been evaluated and reconfigured to offer a more focused product with further improved reliability while keeping the existing wide range of port coverages,” a statement issued by ONE said.
