APL's Andersen to take the helm at Rickmers Maritime
Former Maersk and APL executive Søren Andersen is take over the helm at Singapore-listed shipping trust Rickmers Maritime.
Andersen will be taking over the role of ceo of Rickmers Trust Management (RTM) from Thomas Preben Hansen who has resigned from the trust.
Hansen has held the role of ceo at RTM since its listing on the Singapore Exchange in May 2007.
Andersen is currently head of global network and alliance, following a 15 years at AP Moller – Maersk.
“We are delighted to welcome Søren to RTM and look to him to lead the charge to further strengthen our balance sheet while at the same time improve our yield with the gradual recovery of time charter rates and capitalise on new opportunities in line with the accelerating trade growth of 6.8% in 2015,” said Bertram Rickmers chairman of RTM.
He added: “Thomas has always provided steady and determined leadership to the Trust as we weathered the global financial crisis and navigated the challenging years that the shipping industry has experienced since then.”
Hansen will remain as ceo until 31 May this year.
