Build your own 100,000 brick Lego cargo ship

Bored at home in lockdown and missing seeing ships? Why not build you own cargo vessel out of Lego.

On the Beyond the Brick YouTube channel Jonathan Murphy shows off his incredible Lego model of the 2013-built, 19,460 dwt ro-ro cargo vessel Oceanex Connaigra featuring amazing amounts of detail.

Consisting over 100,000 bricks though it will probably require more than just raiding your kids Lego sets if you want to replicate Murphy’s achievement.

For a sense of scale and the amount of work required in this model the limited edition Maersk Line Triple-E Lego containership model that was released a few years back consists of around 2,000 bricks and takes roughly six hours to build, even with the benefit of instructions.
