The name change proposal is to reflect the company’s principal business operations in container shipping and terminal services following the completion of an internal restructuring.

“The company proposed to change its company name in line with its strategic positioning for future development, and to highlight its core competitive advantages,” China Cosco Holdings said.

Coscocs, formed by the merger of China Cosco Group and China Shipping Group, has become an indirect controlling shareholder of the company.
