"Containerships has played a key role in the expansion of the CMA CGM Group's range of multimodal solutions. By incorporating this unified model into CMA CGM's offerings, the group gains access to the extensive maritime, road, rail and waterway solutions offered by Containerships," said CMA CGM.

"The experience of our customers and business partners will be enhanced through better digital tools, a wider range of CMA CGM services and a broader intra-European presence," the company added.

In April 2019, CMA CGM decided to merge its subsidiaries MacAndrews and Containerships, where the former will operate under the name of the latter. Both are now officially absorbed by the French shipping and container shipping company.
