Containerships takes delivery of fourth LNG-powered boxship

CMA CGM intra-Europe line Containerships has taken delivery of its fourth dual-fuel, LNG-powered boxship.

The 1,380 teu capacity Containerships Arctic was delivered on 10 December by Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard.

The vessel will make its way from the Chinese yard to Rotterdam for its first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering taking on 200 tonnes of LNG. The vessels will initially be phased into CMA CGM’s Baltic feeder services before joining Containerships BALT-1 shortsea service in early 2021, according to the company.

The fourth LNG powered vessel in Containerships fleet and by the end of 2022 CMA CGM will have 20 LNG-powered vessels.
