CSBC lands order for two 1,800 teu boxships

Taiwan’s shipbuilder CSBC Corp has inked a deal to build a pair of feeder container vessels with an option for one more unit.

Taipei-listed CSBC announced to the stock exchange that it will construct two 1,800 teu boxships for Prevalence Holding Limited, with delivery dates scheduled in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The shipbuilder disclosed to Seatrade Maritime News that the pair of newbuildings is priced at a total of $48m, and construction is expected to start early next year at Keelung yard.
