CU Lines orders boxship pair from Huangpu Wenchong

China United Lines (CU Lines) and CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding have entered into a shipbuilding contract for the construction of two 2,700 teu containerships

With the length of 188.8 metres, width of 32.2 metres, the vessels are designed by SDARI, equipped with AMP system featuring advantages of energy saving and environment-friendly, meeting the latest requirements of EEDI III and Tier III.

The two boxships order placed by CU Lines are the first newbuilding orders that Huangpu Wenchong has inked in the new year, which will start delivery from the second half of 2023.

Last year, CU Lines ordered four 1,900 teu containerships at Huangpu Wenchong, which are currently under construction.
