CULines to launch direct service from China to Tilbury, UK

Chinese container carrier China United Lines (CULines) is to launch direct service connecting China with the Port of Tilbury in the UK.

The express service is expected to debut from Shanghai on 26 October, calling at Ningbo and Yantian, then heading to Tilbury directly, which will become the only direct service from China to Tilbury. 

Deploying the 2010-built, 1,740 teu containership A Daisen this direct service to Tilbury will have a transit of 27-30 days from China to Tilbury, featuring advantages of fast transportation and on-time delivery. 

The service is aimed to provide more logistics solutions for e-commerce clients.

According to London Container Terminal’s website it would be first service to connect it to the East Asian region. It currently has services that call from the Indian sub-continent and Australasia/New Zealand.

The UK's largest container port Felixstowe is currently experiecing serious congestion with significant berthing delays.
