CULines orders two containerships from Yangzijiang Shipbuilding

Rapidly expanding China United Lines (CULines) has signed shipbuilding contract with Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for the construction of two 2,400 teu containerships.

The new boxship pair will be pre-installed digitized and intelligent ship management system for remote monitoring and management of vessel.

The 2,400 teu containerships are due for delivery in 2023 and will be deployed on intra-Asia services.

It is the second containership newbuilding orders placed by CULines this year following four 1,900teu boxships it contracted with CSSC Huangpu Wenchong shipyard.

This year has also seen CULines taking the plunge on the mainline Asia – Europe trade, marking its move into the longhaul trades.
