The Chinese container service provider China United Lines (CULines) is to launch new routes connecting South China with Southeast Asia.

To further enhance services in Southeast Asia region, the company is planning to open up South China-Vietnam/Philippines service, providing a new fast channel for clients, according to CULines.

The new service will debut from the port of Xiamen, with a two-day transit to Manila; four days for Nansha-Ho Chi Minh’s Cat Lai; and four days for Cat Lai-Shekou. The service will also call at Subic Bay.

CULines came to prominence in recent years expanding into the mainline trades as supply chain disruption constrained capacity and pushed container freight rates to record levels. With spot container freight rates plunging over the last 12 months the company has pulled back from long haul expansion.
