The fifth of the series “Breakfast with EMAC” was conducted by Richard Strub, a partner at Holman Fenwick Willan.

“Bills of lading are important documents for the maritime sector. They not only work as a receipt of freight services, they are also a document of title and a contract between the freight carrier and shipper,” said Majid Obaid bin Bashir, acting chairman and secretary general, EMAC.

“Understandably, disputes around bills of lading can have significant and far reaching consequences for affected parties. As a result, it is important for those working in the sector to understand the options available to help resolve these disputes, such as using arbitration measures through EMAC.”

The fifth in the series each session has been accredited independently for one credit by the Dubai Government Legal Affairs Department’s Continuing Legal Professional Development.
