Goldenport scraps boxship to pocket $6mGoldenport scraps boxship to pocket $6m
Goldenport Holdings Inc has sold a 2,420-teu container vessel for $6m to Gunehr Shipping of Nevis.

The sale of 1994-built MSC Anafi for demolition has led to Goldenport realising a book loss of $3.9m after accounting for brokerage commission and book value.
The shipowner of container vessels and dry bulk carriers said the sale proceeds will go towards the repayment of $4.55m of debt secured against the vessel and increasing the level of corporate liquidity.
“Goldenport continues to take advantage of the current strong scrap prices and has sold one of its oldest vessels in order to reduce the average age of its fleet and enhance operating and cash flow generating efficiency,” the company said.
MSC Anafi is the third container vessel to be scrapped by Goldenport this year after the 1,923 teu MSC Accra and the 3,000 teu MSC Scotland.
