HMM, Ocean Network Express (ONE), and Yang Ming Marine Transportation have announced that they will continue to co-operate in the liner trades as the new Premier Alliance for five years from February 2025.

The three partners are currently members of THE Alliance along with Hapag-Lloyd. The German line announced in January this year that it would be partnering with Maersk from January 2025 under the new Gemini Co-operation, a move made after Maersk and MSC announced the 2M alliance was coming to an end.

After this container alliance shuffle, MSC will be going it alone.

The Premier Alliance members said they will co-operate on mainline services across the major East - West lanes, connecting Asia to North America West Coast, North America East Coast, the Mediterranean, North Europe, and the Middle East. A comprehensive update on their services for all trade lanes has been released.

The group also announced it would partner with MSC on the Asia - Europe trade with a slot exchange agreement across nine services as MSC establishes its plans to stand alone outside of the 2M alliance.

Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, said: “We are very pleased to announce that our strategic partnership with HMM and Yang Ming in the East-West trades will be further continued. The close network collaboration that exists between the three companies will be further strengthened and enhanced under this new collaboration starting from February 2025.

Kyung Bae Kim, CEO of HMM said: “We are very pleased to continue alliance co-operation with ONE and Yang Ming, which has proven a longstanding partnership among three lines until now, and will into the future.”

Dr. Feng-Ming Tsai, chairman of Yang Ming, said: “The continuous collaboration with HMM and ONE not only reflects the deep trust and shared vision among the three companies within the industry, but also underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering great value and broad coverage for our customers.”
