HMM targets fast growing China – Mexico trade with new service
South Korean container line HMM is launching a new service connecting Asia and Latin America.
The Far East – Latin America Express (FLX) launched in cooperation with Ocean Network Express (ONE) will serve the ports of Busan in Korea, Shanghai in China, and Lazaro Cardenas in Mexico.
The first voyage on the FLX service is set to depart Shanghai on 16 August. The service will have a 42-day rotation.
“We have launched the FLX as the cargo from China to Mexico increases. The new service will provide customers with a premium loop rotation serving Far East Asia to Mexico trade as well as additional network coverage between Asia and Mexico,” said HMM spokesman.
HMM joins a number of lines launching new services connecting China and East Asia with Mexico including Cosco Shipping and MSC with recent service announcements.
Earlier this year Xeneta Chief Analyst Peter Sand described the China – Mexico trade as the fastest growing on the planet.
