Huangpu Wenchong secures methanol boxship pair from Elbdeich

South China shipbuilder CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding says German owner Elbdeich Reederei ordered two 1,250 teu boxships plus options for another pair.

Elbdeich had placed an order for two firmed and two optional methanol-fuelled containerships from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding in September 2023.

With the growing concerns on carbon-reduction and the demands from zero-carbon vessel, Huangpu Wenchong will continue to increase investment and development in methanol-fuelled vessels, commented the shipyard. 

Specialised in feeder boxship construction, Huangpu Wenchong currently has 45 feeder vessel orders on hand.
