According to Maersk, some smoke continues to come from containers that were ablaze, but that will eventually come to an end with continued damping down from firefight teams.

The fire, which started in a container at the bottom of a stack in the foremost bays of the vessel and spread to other containers in the bays. Firefighting teams have been attempting to beat the blaze since.

The line is now turning its attention to operational matters, selecting an appropriate port for the ship, making contingency plans for cargo aboard and making arrangements for the vessels's eventual return to service.
