Following the announcement of a new transpacific service last week to the US West Coast MSC said it would launching a service connecting Yantian, China and Vietnam with New York, and southern US East Coast ports of Savannah and Charleston. The service will operate via the Panama Canal.
“This new service will allow us to improve the distribution of the cargo flows in our existing network and to improve the schedule reliability for our customers, among all service strings on the trade,” MSC said.
The new service is expected to start in May, subject to regulatory approval, and MSC said it would announcing full details in due course.
