A new service connecting northern Chinese service to Southeast Asia has been launched by four container lines.

The new service, jointly operated by four lines, Cosco Shipping, OOCL, Regional Container Lines and Gold Star Line, will deploy seven 8,500-9,500 teu container vessels on weekly basis.

Departing from Tianjin port, the major ports berthed will include Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo, and port Kelang. It is the fourth “Belt and Road” service launched at the port this year.

The opening of the new service will further expand Tianjin port’s service network globally.

Tianjin port has seen nine new international and domestic services this year, including six foreign trade container services, among which four are directly connecting with ASEAN countries.

Last month, Tianjin port posted a container volume of 1.76m teu, an increase of 7.6% year-on-year.
