NYK Line is expanding its links between Japan, Thailand and Vietnam with the addition of a new 21-day weekly service, Phoenix 2.

The existing Phoenix service will be renamed the Phoenix 1 and three 2,700 teu containerships will operate on NYK's new independently operated Phoenix 2 Service. The container line boasts of particularly short transit times between Kobe and Laem Chabang, an industry-leading six days.

The service is expected to begin on 28 March, with the NYK Daniella sailing out of Tokyo with a port rotation as follows: Tokyo – Yokohama – Shimizu – Nagoya – Kobe – Laem Chabang – Ho Chi Minh – Tokyo
