The second in a series of 10 vessels the OOCL Iris is the first to be delivered by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS).

OOCL Iris was named and blessed by Lily Wan, the wife of Eric Wang, Board Director and Vice President of Midea Group in ceremony witnessed by guests, partners and customers of the container line.

The name Iris refers not only to the flower but also OOCL’s integrated regional information system launched in 1999 which has been upgraded over the years. The OOCL Iris has received three "Smart Ship" notations, as well as the Enviro-friendly notation (ENVIRO) and Sustainable notation (SUSTAIN-1) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

This not only optimises OOCL's fleet structure and upgrades its own fleet but also provides strong support for the sustainable and healthy development of global trade.”

The OOCL Iris deployed on the company’s ECX1 Transpacific service.
