PIL strengthens South West Africa service

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is updating its South West Africa Container Service to meet growing market demands and ensure a more reliable scheduling.

As part of this enhancement, PIL has added a weekly direct calling at Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, strengthening the line's network coverage of West Africa. The enhanced service will commence from 9 December 2024 on 7,092 dwt Kota Sydney departing Xingang, China.

The latest update is the second adjustment to the service this year. in April 2024, PIL introduced 7,000 teu vessels to its independent service.

William Ho, general manager of Long Haul Trade, Line Management at PIL, said: “Africa is a key market for PIL. Having served the continent since the 1970s, PIL’s strong presence and extensive services now cover close to 30 countries in Africa. With our commitment towards ‘Putting Customers First’, we are firm on investing in this region by pushing boundaries and enhancing our service offerings, so that we can deliver more value to our customers.”

The new rotation for the service is: Xingang – Qingdao – Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Nansha – Singapore – Tema – Lome – Lagos (Apapa) – Onne – Abidjan – Singapore – Xingang
