A circular issued by the Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation said that the port was ready to receive all types of ships according to the design capacity of its wharves and terminals.

The port said it had already received 10 vessels since “the end of the crisis in Aden” including the Han Zhi at the oil harbour general cargo berth and the SCL Bern at Aden Container Terminal. The port had been closed for four months.

“While the management of the corporation is working to normalise the maritime and commercial activities in the port, it emphasizes that this goal will not be achieved without the cooperation of everyone,” said Alawi Amzarb, executive chairman of Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation.

Yemen has been hit a five-month long war that has left over 4,300 dead.
