RCL inks four boxships at Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding

The South China-based CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has entered into shipbuilding contract with Regional Container Lines (RCL) for a quartet of 4,300 teu container ships.

It is the largest containership order that Huangpu Wenchong has ever received, a milestone of the shipyard in terms of entering into mid-size containership construction market.

Huangpu Wenchong’s boxship products mainly include the vessels with carrying capacity of 1,000 teu, 1,500 teu,1,900 teu, 2,700 teu, 3,000 teu and 3,400 teu.

RCL runs a fleet of 34 containerships, the newbuildings to be built at Huangpu Wenchong will be able to support its business expansion and fleet optimization.
