RCL takes over all vessel operations on Thailand - Myanmar service, adds Laem Chabang
Regional Container Lines (RCL) has added Laem Chabang as port of call on its RTY service linking Thailand and Myanmar, and will now operate all three vessels on the service.
RCL currently operates two vessels on the service and will be taking over operating the third from Ocean Network Express (ONE).
The shipping line is also adding a call at Laem Chabang meaning the rotation will now be Thai Sugar Terminal (TST) – Laem Chabang – Singapore - Port Klang (Westport) - Yangon (MIP) - Yangon (MITT) - Port Klang (Westport) - Singapore – TST.
The service will be on a 21 day, three vessel rotation with the 1,018 teu sister vessels Xetha, Yantra and Nanta Bhum deployed on the route.

“The addition of Laem Chabang will support our customers’ request for direct shipments from both Bangkok and Laem Chabang to Myanmar. The export windows from Bangkok/Laem Chabang are also the preferred windows of Saturday and Sunday,” said an RCL spokesman.
“Over in Myanmar, RCL continues to offer a choice of both city (MIP) and MITT which is conveniently located next to a growing manufacturing hub known as the Thilawa Special Economic Zone”.
