SeaLead promotes Suleyman Avci to CEO
Following a change in ownership earlier this year fast growing container line SeaLead has appointed a new global CEO and board of directors.
SeaLead announced that Suleyman Avci had been promoted to Global Chief Executive Officer of SeaLead from the role of Vice President of Global Trade Management and Managing Director for Europe and Mediterranean.
Avci takes over from SC Chan who held the post of interim CEO since February this year. Chan now takes on the role of Chairman of a new five member board of directors.
Avci brings with him over 30 years of experience and held senior posts Arkas Line and MAS Shipping previously.
Commenting on his new role, "I look forward to taking SeaLead into its next chapter of growth, leveraging our robust financial position and strategic partnerships to continue our expansion into strategic regions, build strong teams under capable leadership, and strategically timing our investments to enhance our asset base.”
Chan meanwhile heads a new board of directors which as well as himself as chairman comprises four non-executive directors: Joachim Schlotfeldt, Kim Young So, Capt. Subhangshu Dutt, and Martin Kaalund.
SeaLead has also inaugurated a new Singapore as the company’s headquarters.
"Our new office marks an important step for SeaLead,” Avci added. "It will serve as a central hub for our global operations, encouraging creativity and collaboration among our team."
The new appointments follow a change in ownership for SeaLead in February this year when it was acquired by Eurasia Capital, HCP Investments, Access Capital Funds, and Saral Incorp. VCC SubFund.
SeaLead was founded in 2017 and according to analysts Alphaliner is the world’s 16th largest container line.
