A second Ocean Network Express (ONE) vessel ONE Apus has suffered a collapse of containers on the transpacific trade while bound for the Port of Long Beach.

ONE said in a notice to customers that the 14,000 teu, 2019-built, ONE Apus suffered a collapse of containers in severe weather while sailing to the Port of Long Beach.

The Singapore-headquartered container line said that investigations into the incident onboard the vessel managed by NYK Ship Management were ongoing.

“The vessel schedule is expected to be delayed and her schedule recovery plan is currently underway which will be advised subsequently,” ONE said.

It is the second such incident to hit ONE recently with sistership to the ONE Apus, the 2018-built, 14,052 teu, Panama-flagged ONE Aquila suffering a loss of containers in severe weather on 30 October also while sailing to the Port of Long Beach. The ONE Aquila was diverted to the Port of Tacoma to offload damaged containers and undergo repairs returning to service on 11 November.
