Shanghai Bestway said the design will be customised for the containership to sail in China’s domestic waters on a north-south route.

The boxship will measure 210 metres in length and 37.28 metres in breadth with a speed of 14 knots.

“The hulls of the ship will be designed to reduce operating costs and the vessel will be incorporated with environmentally friendly features,” Shanghai Bestway said in a statement.

Shanghai Bestway, a ship design firm listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, has developed more than 500 ship types since its establishment in 2001.
