Twinchok Tanthuwanit has been appointed as the new President of Regional Container Lines (RCL) as the company plans for the future.

The move comes as Sumate Thantuwanit, one of the Thai company’s founders in 1980, takes on the role of Chairman of the newly formed Executive Committee, with Twinchok taking charge of day-to-day operations.

Twinchok Tanthuwanit joined RCL in 2015 as General Manager of the company’s marketing department, become Senior Vice President (Chief of Regions and Business Development).

During his seven years with the company he has expanded its fleet and led the team that spearheaded its move it onto technology, data management and analytics to improve efficiency of operations.

“In view of his vast experience, the Board of Directors has assigned Mr. Twinchok, the new President, to implement the business strategy plans, including the increase in fleet efficiency to match international standard,” RCL said.

Twinchok Tanthuwanit plans to further expand and strengthen the company’s network.

Thai-listed RCL currently owns and operates a fleet of 45 vessels with sizes ranging between 388 and 6,310 teu.
