UASC and CSCL introduce intra-Asia service

United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) have teamed up on the intra-Asia trade to offer a new service cover Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Central and South China.

The service, named IAC1, will launch 21 September through a vessel sharing agreement. CSCL will contribute three vessels, UASC will contribute one, with a total weekly capacity of 2.600 teu.

The route covered will be Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shekhou, Laem Chabang, Nansha, Hong Kong, Shekou, Xiamen, Tokyo.

The service announcement comes as rumours circulate that the lines are seeking to join the P3 alliance of Maersk Line, CMA CGM and MSC.
