The development follows the G6 parties’ amendment to extend their co-operation to all major east-west trades including those between Asia and the west coast of the US, as well as Europe-US east coast trades. The 45-day regulatory waiting period will be restarted once the request is fulfilled.

“I have reviewed the proposed G6 Amendment and agree with the questions proposed by the Commission,” stated Commissioner Doyle. “I also submitted questions related to the impact this Amendment would have on consumers, the US-flag international fleet, small businesses and third party interests such as terminals, vendors and bunker suppliers.

"I trust that the G6 parties will thoroughly address all the questions posed in the Commission’s request for additional information."

The move follows the Federal Maritime Commission’s request for information from the P3 Alliance in December.
