Wan Hai Lines adds 12 boxship newbuilds in Japan

Taiwan-based Wan Hai Lines has confirmed an order of twelve 3,055 teu containerships at Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd and Japan Marine United Corp for fleet expansion.

New vessels will start taking delivery at the end of July 2023.

This new shipbuilding contract is the company’s latest fleet renewal plan designed to keep pace with market developments.

Earlier this year, Wan Hai placed an order to build twelve 3,013 teu container vessels at Nihon Shipyard.

Currently, Wan Hai operates a fleet of 86 owned vessels and 64 chartered vessels.
